Ekko traps the head of a bad nail between the grips of his hammer and works it out of a half-rotten plank. He sets it on a pile of other rusty nails.
“I guessed.”
“No. You knew.”
There’s no accusation in her tone, just a matter-of-fact statement. Calling him out on his bullshit.
Ekko gets to working on another nail. He doesn’t respond. But he doesn’t deny it, either.
He hears her let out a breath through her nose. Like she’s figured something out. Maybe she has; she always knew him too well. He sort of hoped that after all this time, she couldn’t still do that.
But somehow, he’s not surprised.

Summary
Slowly, her brain came back to Runeterra. She blinked, trying to focus on her surroundings. Vi had been laid to rest on an old, tattered red chair tucked against a bean bag so she could stretch out her legs. Above her, there was a colorful canopy illuminated with string lights. Amongst the clutter on the little table sat a ragdoll with a body made out of a music box with woven bright magenta hair.
Vi had an idle thought of the ragdoll being dressed in a vaguely familiar manner, before her eyes landed on her own younger face, painted in watercolor inside a wooden frame.
The recognition took a moment to sink in. “What the fuck?”

"This is important, Ekko. If I can get to this other universe, then maybe there’s a chance I could meet…” she trailed off.
“Vi,” Ekko finished. Powder nodded and he sighed. “Pow, you do realize she’s not gonna be our Vi, right? She could be a completely different person. Besides, what if she has a Powder of her own?”
Powder knew he had several points. The logical thing to do would be to destroy the Z-drive and the gemstones and never think about interdimensional travel ever again. It was selfish to assume she could go to another universe, meet another Vi, and have her sister back–even if it was just for a short while. But Powder was finding it incredibly difficult to care about logic. She wanted to see her sister, even if it wasn’t her sister.

It has been six months since the events of S2E7 and Powder hasn't been able to get the universe where Vi is alive out of her head since. But will re-building the Z-Drive to visit this other universe's Vi give her the closure she needs?
