“You’re a vampire!” Sae shrieks.
Ryusei’s eyes are wide. He blinks slowly once, twice, and then cocks his head. “Yes?” His voice comes out uncertain, as if he’s wondering if this is a trick question.
“You didn’t tell me.”
“I thought you knew,” Ryusei replies. “You asked me to bite you!”
“Yeah, bite me like a human, not like a,” Sae gestures wildly with his free hand, his voice dropping to a whisper, “vampire.”
Ryusei lets out a half-laugh. “Oh my god. We’re so stupid.” His half laugh resolves into a full laugh, and suddenly he’s doubled over, giggling. “Sae, we’re so stupid, aren’t we?”
The tension bleeds out of Sae’s shoulders. “Fuck, I guess we are.”

The temple is not so archaic as to forgo electricity. The interior is warmed by lanterns, paper and wood framing man-made fire, suffused over the traditional art on the walls. It's a nice place, fragrant with incense and the surrounding woods. For it to be a home—nestled in seeming ease among the dead and those close to it—makes Kuro's steps wary, his muffled footsteps' echoes shyer. Keito's family must be in another wing. Here, with endless halls crisscrossing the other, Kuro is lulled to thinking their feet are the only pair to have ever tread these floors.

Summary
It wasn’t as though it was particularly unpleasant being able to feel Wataru’s pulse reverberating through his skin as though it was his own. A bit distracting at times, perhaps, but that wasn’t the issue. The issue was the unplaceable feeling of impatience it instilled in him. The issue was the rush of — what, exactly? excitement? lust? hunger? — that it sent thrilling through him every time he let his guard down enough to really focus on it.
The issue was the way he was itching to act on it but had no clue what that would entail.

It’s the cruelest, most exquisite irony: that here Eichi is, offering himself up, and it’s utterly impossible for Wataru to accept his feelings. Not because he doesn’t feel the same way, but because he does. Because it feels like looking down from atop a precipice, from which he can never return if he jumps; because Wataru is desirable from a distance, and only from a distance; because the only fate more miserable than never learning how Eichi’s body would feel against his own, would be to learn it and then have to forget it.

Childe peers down at him, and oh.
Gui has seen Childe half-naked. He has seen him almost completely naked. He has seen Childe with a variety of expressions on: smug, gloomy, flirty, charming, mocking, delighted, angry. He knows Childe very intimately for someone who he calls a stranger.
But he has never caught Childe staring at him the way he does now.
