Summary
Jaskier is captain of the high school cheer squad, and spends his afternoons in the auditorium with the other theater kids laughing and quoting shows.
Geralt is the football teams quarterback, smart, good grades, notoriously stoic and keeping only to himself and his brothers.
The two get paired up in chemistry class, and Jaskier finds himself suddenly having to hide a very obvious crush. It doesn't help when he is being blackmailed by Geralts teammates.

Summary
An optimistic young bard leaves Oxenfurt and tries to make a name for himself. A run-in with bandits and several miserable years later, Jaskier does not believe in kindness anymore. When a white-haired witcher saves him from a leshen, he knows that there will be a price. There is always a price to pay, and seeing as Jaskier has no money, he knows he will not like the shape that price takes.
Geralt is rather annoyed. Why do people always assume he will invoke the law of surprise? Though usually it is women who fear he will trick them into giving him their firstborn child. He hates the tired stereotype. How is he supposed to get the bard to safety when the man is so afraid of him?

When Eskel hears Jaskier singing his new song, Burn, Witcher, Burn, in an inn, smelling of sorrow and without his brother, he endeavours to figure out why that is. It may mean he has to leave the Path to fix his brother's mistakes (and potentially bash him over the head for his stupidity) but if that leads him and those around him to a new found family and actually learning how to deal with their emotions, that's probably for the best.
