It's his reflection. Lan Wangji can look at it for as long as he wants. It's just boring to do so. Who really likes staring at their reflection, anyway? It's normal to finish your mirror-related tasks as quickly as possible and then move on.
Lan Wangji attempts to move on, and the itch under his skin climbs all the way up into his skull to attack his brain. He watches his reflection as his posture shifts, his shoulders softening and curling in slightly, one of his hips cocking to add a curve to his spine. He lets his hand settle lightly on his hip, drawing more attention to the curve, and twists his torso so there's more of a contrast between the indent of his waist and the sway of his hip, tipping his head so his hair drapes further down over his shoulder. He meets his own eyes and for just an instant he sees someone else, someone softer, someone prettier—
Heart hammering, Lan Wangji rips himself away from the mirror and towels off his hair with shaking hands.
Or: Lan Zhan learns how to be happy.

The house was very small, only two rooms, and it was largely empty aside from some sparse pieces of furniture. Even the sleeping mat seemed to have been rolled up and carried away. There were a few left behind items that proved they’d found the right cottage, such as a birthing stool and a pile of blankets.
Zizhen poked his head to look in a bassinet and screamed.
Jin Ling drew his sword. Jingyi gasped and clutched his heart, terribly startled. Sizhui rushed over, hand on the hilt of his sword just in case.
“Oh,” he said.
Wei Wuxian poked his head over. “Oh!” he said delightedly.
Wei Wuxian finds a demon baby during a nighthunt and is immediately smitten with it. Meanwhile, Lan Sizhui is very anxious to solve the case so he can get ahold of himself. (He's never been jealous of someone before, much less a baby, but... maybe this is what it feels like.)

Summary
Burial Mounds is just a poetic name, it doesn't change what this place is - a landfill. A pile of trash so big it takes up the better part of what used to be called Yiling. It's a dangerous place to live due to all the toxic waste. For the same reason, it’s the only safe place for Wei Wuxian and the Wens. Maybe this place is exactly where they belong - in society’s eyes, they are toxic refuse hoping to be salvaged. Wei Ying isn't really hoping for redemption, he did a lot of mistakes in the past - mistakes that had horrible consequences that are impossible to fix.
When he finds a seriously damaged android, it gives him a new purpose. Maybe if he can fix him, he will feel less useless and damaged himself.Series
