Summary
"Well," says Patroclus. Finally. "Hello there, traveler. Come to peruse my wares?"
The wares in question make another funny choked sound low in his throat, tucked neatly in Patroclus' lap. He's just about incoherent, what with the miniscule movements Patroclus is grinding into him with, but he manages a gasped out, "Achilles," which Patroclus thinks is as fine a greeting as any. Achilles drops to his knees, looking slightly spellbound. His mouth is hanging open. Patroclus would close it for him, if he were closer.

Thanatos looks away, down at the empty bottle in his hand, the indulgence still on the tip of his tongue, so fleeting. “Nectar today, fish tomorrow.”
Zagreus laughs. “What? What does that mean?”
“It means, you’re under Dionysus’s influence today. Promising me nectar. And tomorrow, it’ll be Poseidon. Promising me whatever he can provide.”
Zagreus leans back, squinting one eye, as if trying to keep him in focus. “Weird thing to say,” he says. “I’m only ever myself, Olympic boon or no.”

Summary
The Underworld is Vegas’s home, and his prison too; he has never known anything beyond it. The surface sings its siren songs to him — promises him freedoms he can only dream of. And yet his father’s orders are clear. He is not allowed to leave.
Vegas no longer cares for his father’s orders. But escape is not so easy. He’ll need all the help he can get.
Or: Vegas is the Prince of the Underworld. He’s determined to escape, at all costs — and he’s going to die trying.
