Summary
Louis plopped down beside her, close enough that their shoulders almost brushed. “So, do you always hang out on rooftops being mysterious and broody? Or is this, like, a special occasion?”
Harry shifted, tucking her hair behind her ear. “I like the quiet.”
Louis tilted her head. “You know, most people call that being antisocial. But, if I call it ‘broody rooftop poet girl,’ it sounds way cooler.”
Harry laughed under her breath. “You’re weird.”
“Thank you,” Louis said immediately, like it was a compliment. She leaned back on her palms, eyes flicking toward the sky. “Though, if you were secretly writing dark poems up here, I wouldn’t judge. I’d probably even ask for a signed copy.”
Harry tried not to stare, but Louis’ grin was annoyingly contagious. For the first time in a while, she didn’t feel like the loneliest person in the world.
Or the one that Harry and Louis are battling their demons and found each other in process.

“You know,” Louis murmured, “this place never changes. Every time I come back, I still feel sixteen.”
Harry turned his head slightly, studying Louis in the golden spill of light from the villa windows. The years had sharpened his features, but the boy Harry remembered was still always there—in the curve of his smile, the way his lashes cast delicate shadows on his cheeks.
“Is that a good thing or a bad thing?” Harry asked.
Louis hummed, considering. “Depends. When I was sixteen, I used to dream about kissing you right here on this terrace.” Harry’s breath caught. “I’d imagine coming home, walking from the fields with handfuls of flowers,” Louis continued, voice soft, “and you’d be waiting in the doorway, leaning against the frame, smiling at me like I was the best thing you’d seen all day. Then you’d meet me at the bottom of the stairs and kiss me like there was no tomorrow.” He cut himself off with a quiet laugh. “God, it’s embarrassing.”
Harry swallowed. “It’s not.”
Louis smiled faintly, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Yeah. It was a sixteen years old boy’s fantasy. One that never came true.”

Summary
Somehow, Louis managed to finish the last rep. As soon as she set the weights down, she exhaled in relief, flopping back against the bench.
Harry chuckled. “See? You didn’t die.”
“Barely,” Louis muttered, rubbing her arms. It hurt and burnt at the same time.
Harry tapped her shoulder. “Come on, up. We still have shoulder presses.”
Louis groaned. “You’re trying to kill me.”
The curly girl only smirked. “No, I’m trying to give you great boobs.”
“Oh my god. I knew you wouldn’t let that go.” Louis accused as she couldn’t hide her flushed cheeks.
Harry only laughed, tossing her a water bottle. “Hurry up, princess. We’ve got training to do.”

Harry took a deep breath, his fingers tightening into a fist. “I... I haven’t been sleeping well. Actually, I haven’t been sleeping much at all,” he admitted, his voice hoarse. “It’s been getting worse for weeks now. I think it started with nightmares, but now... it’s something else.”
Dr. Sinclair leaned forward slightly, his eyes focused on Harry. “Something else?”
“Voices,” Harry whispered, almost as if he was afraid saying it aloud would make them worse. “I’ve been hearing voices, even when I’m awake.”

Summary
In hindsight Louis should know there would be only one bed in the older man's room. It was a small inn attached to a pub downstairs, he should know. And it wasn’t a king sized bed where both of them could stay in their respective place without touching each other until the sun rose. The double bed was staring at Louis, taunting him and judging him for spending a night with clearly someone’s father who probably had children around his age.
