He couldn't let Sam, Teal'c, or anyone see. Couldn't let them figure out that something inside Daniel was dying every day that they couldn't find Jack. That after months of Jack being missing, Daniel's throat constantly ached because nightmares would wake him screaming Jack's name. That every time he slept in their bed he couldn't stop himself from sobbing uncontrollably in grief. Couldn't let them know that Jack and he had been happily together since Abydos.
But it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter when they finally find Jack after months of torture. When Daniel is the only one who can calm Jack with promises and loving touches. Suddenly neither of them care about hiding their love anymore, not when it was almost gone.
