“You think too much.” Kon says, because he sort of feels like he’s being examined under a microscope.
“Maybe you can help me with that. It’s like every time we're together, my thoughts turn to mush.” Tim laughs slightly, and his cheeks are flushed, much like when he’s in the middle of a gruelling tennis match.
His heart beats violently against his rib cage, begging to be let out and laid bare in front of Tim. Is it quick enough? Is it devoted enough to deserve his affections?
“Huh, every time I see you, my thoughts race a thousand miles an hour.”

Summary
Considering all the missions they’ve been on before, Kon supposes it could be worse. He’s pinned beneath the rubble of a collapsed building, the unsteady beams forming a little concrete cave over his head. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem. Normally, he could just bust out of here, dust off a little plaster from his head and be on his merry way.
The Kryptonite shard lodged into his side is a problem though. His unconscious teammate slumped over his feet is another.

Kon blinked. "What?"
"You're forgiven," Tim repeated, as if confirming a simple fact. "And you were right. About the labs. It was a violation... You were correct to call it out."
"No," Kon whispered, shaking his head. "No, I wasn't right. I was a jerk—"
"It's handled," Tim interrupted, his voice still flat. "I've taken care of it. All of it."
...
"It won't hurt anymore," Tim said, and for a fleeting second, there was something in his eyes. A flicker of profound, unsettling certainty. "It won't hurt anyone. Ever again."
Or
Kon has been dead for 2 years. Tim tried and failed to clone him, and once Kon is resurrected and finds out he is repulsed.
