    Summary

Religion! Horror! Exorcisms! Piercings! And Gerard is a priest.

Disclaimer: I stole frequently and unrepentantly from Joss Whedon and the makers of various horror movies throughout this whole series. Also I am not an expert on the Vatican or medical-type things, so please accept my apologies in advance for all the wild inaccuracies I am sure you are about to encounter. If everyone could just assume this is the Magical Made-Up Vatican, you know, like the religious institution version of those tour buses that drive themselves and don't carry anyone but the band, that would be awesome.

    Summary

"One slip, one little moment when he’d let his guard down, believed for just one second that someone in this miserable town didn’t immediately hate him, and now here he was, sitting beaten and filthy in the rain-soaked street while some stuck-up fool paraded around him like it was some act of great skill and bravery to swing a hammer at a man’s head when his back was turned."
An easy hunt turns into a nightmare when Geralt is caught and tortured by a hateful village a full two weeks' journey from where he was supposed to meet up with Jaskier. Lots of villager-on-witcher violence, capable and feral Jaskier to the rescue, and some emotional breakdowns (and growth) along the way!

Can be a continuation from Shadow of Death (in a nebulous pre-Ciri, post-mountain, Adventure Bros dimension) or standalone

    Summary

The crow hopped closer, then, until it was almost atop Geralt’s hand. He caught a flash of something shiny around its leg, but when he made to reach for it, the crow skittered backwards, making another low rattle and fluffing up its feathers.

“It’s alright, I just want to look,” Geralt soothed, stilling his hand. The rattle stopped, and the bird hopped hesitantly closer. Geralt waited for it to come to him, motionless and patient. Only when it perched on his hand did he bring it closer, peering intently at its leg.

A silver chain, so fine as to be nearly invisible to the eye, wound its way around the crow’s leg. This close, he could see the barely-there, shimmering aura around it—it was surely enchanted. A binding charm.

Geralt whistled lowly. “No ordinary crow, then,” he surmised, though he’d already known. “Human?”

The crow rattled its displeasure at the term—so it wasn’t transfigured, then. But it was still clearly sentient— “Ah,” Geralt said. “A shifter.”

    Summary

The invitation arrived at Kaer Morhen in spring, when the last of the snow had turned icy and sparkled like diamonds in the sun. The days were clear and brisk, the nights still bitterly cold. Geralt had been brushing Roach in the sun when the hawk had arrived with a scroll attached to its leg.

The parchment was fine and the penmanship impeccable. It formally invited Witcher Geralt of Rivia, the White Wolf, to Venaria for the nuptials of Julian Alfred Pankratz, the Viscount of Lettenhove.

The letter went on, all about the groom and the date and gods knew what else, but Geralt didn't read it. His hands involuntarily twitched, tearing the parchment a bit.

Julian Alfred Pankratz. Jaskier. Was getting married.
