Summary
Bruce appears beside Tony in the lab with one hand behind his back. Tony looks up, delighted. “Did you bring me something?” he asks, leaning to try and look around Bruce. Bruce shifts so that he can’t.
“I made you something,” Bruce says, smiling in that slightly bashful way that always makes Tony want to involve Bruce in an inappropriate relationship with his nominal boss.
“Is it a sex toy? Please tell me it’s a sex toy!” Tony begs.
“You always ask that,” Bruce says, but he’s a little flushed now.
AUTHOR'S NOTES/WARNING: This is a chaptered story, but each chapter should pretty much stand on it's own. I have plans for a total of 5 chapters, but I will be writing as the mood strikes, so be warned that this may be in progress for a while.)

When the first mark manifests, sitting right on the topmost rib on his left side, an elegant black, peach, and purple swirl of color that is just an abstract and intricate melange of color and shape, he’s already twenty-three, and in the Rangers, good at his job, the best, and completely at a loss as to what it means. There are no drunken shenanigans in the previous six months to explain it, and besides that, it doesn’t really look like a tattoo. He isn’t sure what it looks like, exactly. It’s abstract, no pattern or symbol to it. He tries to wash it off, half-thinking it’s some kind of joke, but it doesn’t wash and it doesn’t eventually wear off. And he’s certain there is some meaning to it, a feeling he can’t explain to himself, and which he never mentions to anyone else, which, if he had really thought it was some sort of practical joke one of the other guys had pulled on him, he surely would have. He has no idea why, but the urge to keep it to himself is strong.

Summary
There’s a fairly strong possibility that Tony is merely giving him some space to settle himself after what was definitely an extremely rough physical and emotional experience. Bruce doesn’t especially need to settle, but he can see how Tony might want to give him some space to do so anyway. In many respects, Tony knows him better than anyone else in the world, but as far as this specific type of relationship goes, they are nearly strangers.

“He’ll tell us when he gets here,” Steve says. Coulson and Fury both look at him. “He wouldn’t do it without a reason. He certainly didn’t have to leave you with a message that Stark Industries is responsible for locking down your systems, but he did. He hasn’t contacted us with a reason, which means he doesn’t think he can do it by phone or computer. The countdown has to be his ETA.”
Coulson relaxes marginally; Fury merely looks thoughtful. The countdown is showing thirty-two seconds.

The front desk has a key for him under the name Julien Antilles, an identity of Arthur’s making that they only use for this particular type of rendezvous. Eames’ hands sweat as he switches his bag from one hand to the other in the elevator; it has been a long time since Arthur made these kind of arrangements. Long enough that Eames had decided that Arthur was done with them, and mourned the loss even as he hoped that Arthur had managed to move past this need.
He’s the worst kind of hypocrite, of course. He wants Arthur’s games. He’s always wanted them, even as they worried him.
