Jihoon has moved across countless cities in the hopes of avoiding his first mate, who is also the father of his child, Seungkwan. Jihoon and Soonyoung were not rivals, not really. They're just the two best magi in their year level, with Soonyoung faring better than Jihoon in most if not all of their subjects. But Jihoon didn't need reminding.
It shouldn't be enough grounds for Jihoon to be plotting Soonyoung's demise. It's really not, but Jeonghan had a way with words and one way or another, he managed to convince Jihoon. Now here they were: Jihoon well on his way to brew a poison that would kill Kwon Soonyoung.

the world building was done so well, I wasn't expecting so much details especially since the word count doesn't look like it would give the writer enough space to explore it. but it was done so perfectly, i loved their chemistry and how oblivious and foolish (lovingly) jihoon was. just a very fun read!

Jihoon knows it doesn’t work like that, but he thinks he sees Soonyoung’s eyes glaze over, mind going hazy so very easily as he realizes what Jihoon is saying. “Oh,” he breathes softly, and then, “Hyung.”
Or: Soonyoung needs to be taken care of every now and again. Jihoon is more than willing to bear that burden.

don't let the tags fool you into thinking this is pwp. their dynamic is so well explored, i felt like i was losing my mind reading each paragraph. how could someone explore IN DETAIL how these fictional characters know each other so well? it left me speechless. its soo well written and just, amazing.

i always find my way back this fic over and over, its such a comforting place for me. i love how the writer sets the perfect scenes for the characters to explore their interpersonal relationships. the narration is so well done, I'm always in awe with the way the feelings and thoughts are explored... truly, i cannot get over how much i love it.
