Summary
There wasn't some big fight that led to Ghost's retirement, contrary to popular belief. No major injury leading to his discharge, not the death of someone he loved. Nothing of the sort, in fact.
The only thing that convinced him, really, was waking up late – or, relatively late, considering how early he usually woke up – in bed with Soap. To sunlight streaming in through the cracks in his curtains, to his lover already awake, smiling at him and asking if he slept well. He'd come to a realisation, then; he had something to lose if he kept on going with the way he'd been going. All at once, he'd realised he had everything to lose. That Soap had just as much to lose as him.
or, Ghost retires, and Soap follows soon after. They deserve to be soft and rest.

Soap looked down at himself to get an idea what the lieutenant was freaking out about.
Ah. Blood. Quite an impressive amount, actually.
Soap gets a little bit shot. It's fine, but the shock rattles their small group, making them even closer than before. Also, there's a game of Cluedo, for some reason.
