Summary
He is lungfuls of ash and char-edged smoke; he is the skeletons the fire leaves behind. Broken glass. Blood in the sand. He’s remnants, now. Fragments of the consequences. That’s all.

Summary
There’s no humor in Shane’s voice. It’s cold, hard, determined. “When we meet them on the ice next season, I want to fucking destroy them.”
After a moment, he feels Ilya nod thoughtfully behind him.
“Is good plan. Let’s fucking destroy them.”
The Montreal Voyageurs won't stop slinging mud at Shane in the press, so Shane and Ilya decide to get revenge the best way they know how.

“Just so I’m clear.” Win approaches him, then. Walks slowly toward Team until Team’s back hits the wall. Team has to tilt his head a little to look up at him, revels in the way it makes him feel caged in. “You also like that I’m taller than you. You like that my hands are bigger than yours.” Win’s hand encloses his wrist, thumb stroking the delicate skin there. “You like when it feels like I have more power than you. Like I can—put you where I want you.”
Team swallows, then nods.
Or: Team goes on a journey of self-discovery with Win happily along for the ride.

Learning a language for your bro was totally a reasonable thing to do, Reki decided. A best bro. A bro who you wanted to spend the rest of your life with. A bro who you would follow across the universe. A bro who you loved so much, as a friend, that you genuinely couldn’t imagine your life without them at your side.

It's almost time to graduate, and neither Reki nor Langa have any concrete plans for their first foray into adulthood. But they'll have to decide what to do eventually--whether it's going to university, finding a full-time job, or trying to make skating a lucrative past-time. There is only one sure thing: Reki wants his future to include Langa no matter what, even if that means following him halfway across the world.
Sure, Reki's aware that learning English won't guarantee that he and Langa spend the rest of their lives together, but he figures it'll at least give him a fighting chance.
Strangely enough, he's right.

"We're going to be alcoholics by the time we're thirty," Sokka sighed.
"You think we'll live to be thirty?" Zuko asked, honestly thrilled. Sokka had pretty good instincts. Perhaps Zuko should reevaluate his long term goals. He could start by having long term goals.
A more likely alternative was that Sokka was just a hopeless optimist. It just went to show, you never truly saw another man until you stood shoulder to shoulder against a fleet of war balloons intent on raining death upon the city you loved.
Zuko was just a normal guy with normal interests. He liked theatre, burglary, crotchety ostrich horses, watching the Blind Bandit crush her opponents in a glorious display of skill and violence... just your standard banished prince things. It wasn't his fault he kept stumbling into rebellions and uncovering long-buried secrets. Fine, maybe freeing the prisoners was on him, but he was completely innocent of all other treason. Zuko was his father's loyal son. He'd never betray his nation.
Or:
Uncle Iroh took a more creative approach to fostering Zuko's appreciation of other cultures. Now it's everyone's Problem.
