Billy feels anger start simmering in him. “You don’t know me well enough to give me a nickname.”
“Well, you seem to be very comfortable calling me pretty boy, so - ”

They stare at each other for a moment. Steve just looks bewildered, yet incredibly amused. He finally just snorts and raises his hands as if he’s surrendering. “No more cowboy. I get it.” He takes a long sip of his wine, before perking up and pointing at him. “Wait, so is Billy the Kid off the table?? Because I’ve been saving that one.”
Billy squints at him, tries to kill him with his mind.
“I mean, it’s right there. No?”
When it’s clear Billy isn’t going to give him the satisfaction of a response, Steve sighs and shrugs.
“Fine.” He finishes off his wine, waves a server down, and then orders another. Once the drink is delivered, he looks at Billy for a moment, really examines him. “Shot in the dark here - and I’m spitballing - but I’m getting the impression that we are not friends.”

“Fuck,” Billy moans, reaching a hand back to grip a straining thigh. “You’re huge.” Steve realizes Billy means Linebacker, but not in general. Steve’s focus-he wants to pretend it’s reluctant but that’s a lie-darts to where Linebacker thrusts into Billy all leisurely, like he enjoys nothing more than bending Billy Hargrove over and holding him down and thrusting into him with, yeah, a pretty large cock. And, okay, even before now Steve could objectively have seen the appeal of it: getting that snarky, wicked mouth to produce moans, grinding that demon’s smile down to lax lips and then holding it hostage against the couch cushion. Yeah, he gets how that would be satisfying. But now, here, seeing it, Steve thinks, if he could have Billy in his hands like that, have Billy like that, he’d take his time with it, too. The thought shocks him stupid, but does nothing for the hungry swoop of his stomach, the way he suddenly wants.

The expression on his face isn’t fair, Ed thinks. It hurts to look at, all soft and yearning and difficult to resist. The kind of look that makes him angry because of how it also makes him weak. Ed clears his throat, twitches again. Locks his knees tight and clamps his jaw shut, glaring at Stede. The ship keeps sinking beneath them.
“What I also learned,” Stede murmurs, shifting his weight forward. His empty hand comes up, palm open and reaching. “Is that I can be brave. I can be stubborn. I can fight for the life that I want so very, very badly, Edward Teach.”
Ed’s mouth dries. “Y-yeah? And what’s that?”
Stede smiles crookedly. “You.”
