Summary
After a long moment, Sherlock became excruciatingly aware that he was staring, but he couldn’t drag his gaze away from a single drop of sweat slowly wending its way along the contours of John’s temple, glittering in the low light from the mobile that barely beat back the dark. He watched it slide down John’s cheekbone, then jawline, then drip over the ledge of John’s chin to swiftly follow the curve of his throat and then shatter upon the rise of his Adam’s apple. Sherlock flinched, as if the tiny droplets scattered along his own overheated skin.

Summary
Standing just inside the entrance to the darkened Necropolis, Vaako waited, face schooled to impassivity as time continued to march forward, toothless.
The Lord Marshal sat within, having ordered the room cleared and the lights doused, so now only starlight filtered down the metal walls, and the glow of two foreign eyes glittering in the deep shadow near the woman's body in front of the throne. An empty throne.
And still, sublimating his outrage and frustration, Vaako waited. As did the entire Necromonger race.

Summary
“Bond, tell me you have not been operating under the assumption that by pointedly not shooting your megalomaniacal, delusional foster brother you had actually managed to dismantle an entire international criminal organization—an organization, may I remind you, that was influential enough to nearly gain control of the entire security networks of nine countries, had I been a little less brilliant?”
Or; in which Q is better at James Bond's job than James Bond and everyone knew the retirement wasn't going to stick. (But he's still upset about the fucking car.)

Summary
It’s rare that Q comes up against anything that puzzles him at all. Rarer still that he can’t quickly work through whatever barriers present themselves to resolving it. And yet people, certain people, present predicaments through which Q can’t navigate as cleanly as he can through code and number, through data and encryption. Too many variables. Too many illogical processes.
He doesn’t know what game Bond is playing, or if he’s even playing one at all or simply defaults to flirtation. But that’s the only key that comes to mind, again and again and again:
Q is being flirted with by 007. And what’s worse, he’s not sure that he minds it.

Bookmarker's Notes
“For all your bloody genius you ask me that,” James mutters, stroking a hand through Q’s unruly hair before gently snaring it. “Because you, infuriating and tempting thing that you are, have me so distracted I find myself wandering the halls of new MI6 at some unconscionable hour -”
“It’s only eight in the evening,” Q murmurs.
“- trying to find you so I can shut you up for a change.”

Summary
The answering machine was just there for appearances, and yet the blinking number on it was still there, and for some reason James couldn't ignore it. In his solitary life, James never expected to connect with anyone, not at work and especially not with a civilian who was a complete stranger. But Q might be the connection he really needs, in more ways than one.
