That’s...what he thought he meant. But... “Shouto, it’s your birthday, why would you—” He stopped himself, scratching at the back of his head with a confused noise. “What do you mean you have something too?”
Shouto shrugged casually, as he lifted the card at last and tucked it into the front pocket of his jacket. The same place Izuku had carried it, but now it rested close to his own heart.
“It’s a birthday gift for myself,” he explained then, and after a beat, with a glance that made Izuku’s pulse jump, he added, “Provided that it works out in my favor.”

The rest of his belongings tumble down around him in a rain of debris so chaotic that for a moment he hardly knows up from down, left from right.
A breath more and he realises that the ship doesn’t either. That the floor beneath him slants sharply to port—is slanting further with every second which passes—and the awful roar around him is the Night’s Eye itself, screaming in protest as she heels over, and over, and over…
She hangs, there on the edge of momentum, for just long enough that Shouto thinks it might be over for good. That they might topple, ocean rising up to meet them in one final embrace.

The wind flew into his face, sending his hair into an intense, frantic dance behind him as his body entered and then left a cloud of mist...
Zelda was still unconscious, or she appeared to be, as he watched her body fall into another cloud, quickly followed by his own. Finally, Link saw the ground of Hyrule below them. Hyrule Castle floated still in the distance, and he located a lake of water that he estimated would be more than close enough for them to hit with more than enough time to spare as his and Zelda’s bodies inched closer and closer.
I won’t miss you again, Link thought to himself, the position feeling all-too familiar with his right arm extending out to her.
He closed his eyes.
'I won’t lose you again,' he whispered to himself."

Kirishima blinks, mouth half open while Izuku mutters oh god, it’s too late, isn’t it on the other end of the phone, before Kirishima is leaning into his space to see his screen.
“Oh,” he says, in response to the photo someone in the crowd of civilians watching the fight had taken of them. “Oh, that’s-” he cuts himself off for a minute, leaning back to eye Shoto’s face while on the other side of the phone Izuku smothers what is probably a laugh, and then changes tracks.
“It’s super manly to love and support your friends,” Kirishima tells Shoto haughtily, as if this whole thing isn't his fault in the first place.

He wanted to rip his eyes away and hide, but something within him wouldn't let him. Even with that unbearable sadness in Kim Dokja's eyes, he still smiled lightly and asked, "Is it so wrong?"
"I—I'm not... It's not you that's wrong. It's me. It's all me."
Kim Dokja placed his cold hand on Yoo Joonghyuk's cheek and left a chaste kiss on his forehead.
"No," He murmured, looking up at him through his eyelashes. A breath escaped his lips, and he smiled just a little brighter. "Right?"
Suddenly, Yoo Joonghyuk remembered why he suffered for all these years. It was for this single moment. "No," He breathed. "No. I—I suppose not."
Yoo Joonghyuk encounters the toughest dream he's had yet.
