Summary
There's something about it, seeing her move so beautifully, with such focus and clear talent. It's like a breath of fresh air when he's at his lowest, when he feels unaffected, like nothing can reach him anymore…that does, she does, penetrating the fog and forcing him to look up and remember how many incredible things exist in the world.

What kind of person would litter instead of properly disposing of a phone?

Summary
“I never even said goodbye.”
10 years have passed since Schroeder last saw the girl who always loitered around his piano. His memories of her fade as he busies himself by honing his skills on the piano. He’s 18 now and in his senior year of highschool. With a scholarship to Juilliard under his belt, his childhood dream of becoming a professional pianist is finally in reach.
Senior year should be smooth sailing from now on, Schroeder thought.
That is, until the van Pelts move back into town.
OR
Schroeder definitely should have bagged Lucy when they were younger.

Summary
“Jesus Christ, Ava! Ever heard of a door?”
Bucky’s heart thudded against his ribs, every nerve ending on fire with the strain of holding back the decades of training that were screaming at him to fight. To her credit, Ava looked at least a little contrite, and so she should.
“I knocked. You didn’t answer”.
Bucky huffed an annoyed sigh, running his hands through his too-long hair. His heart still hammered out a staccato beat inside his chest, but it no longer felt like it was trying to escape its bone and metal cage. Ava remained poised on the edge of the living room, still on guard for an attack. Seeing someone he had started to consider a friend looking at him with veiled fear in their eyes cut through him like a knife, a reminder of a not too distant time that he would prefer to forget. The irony of wishing to forget his past was never lost on him. He softened, but held firmly to his annoyance with her intrusion.
““Yeah, well I think that’s a pretty clear indication that I’m not in the mood for guests.”
“You haven’t felt like guests for over a week now. We were getting worried.”
