Mickey can’t exactly let that happen.
“Wow, Doc. Someone doesn’t want me getting in trouble, huh?” Ian asks, a glint in his eyes. Mickey’s letting off more than he’s meant to show, but he can’t help it. Playing Ian’s game is so much more fun than protocol.
“Maybe I like havin’ you as a patient. You’re one hell of a challenge, Gallagher.”
“Says you.”
“Says me,” Mickey agrees, because Mickey’s also a challenge. Not a good one, not typically, but maybe perfect for Ian Gallagher. The thought should scare him so much more than it does. Instead, it makes him hot all over. Maybe he’s crazy, too.
