Charlie had always had a problem with the supernatural. Things that went bump in the night would send a chill down her spine at the mere thought of them and horror movies would give her nightmares for days, sometimes weeks if they were bad enough, so she tried to avoid them at all costs. It wasn't like she tried to hid it, either. Anyone who knew her would say that the best known fact about her was that she didn't like anything scary. Vaggie and Angel knew this especially. They were always to careful, making sure not to do anything that might upset when they knew how bad things could get for her. Maybe that was why it was a shock with Angel suggested they use a ouija board at her parents house while they were away for the night and maybe that was why it was an even bigger shock when Charlie said yes. Despite every part of her telling her it's a bad idea, she was determined to get over her fear once and for all so she can get on with her life. She couldn't spend every waking moment avoiding things that might be scary and she saw it as the perfect oppurtunity to prove to herself that none of it was real so she could stop feeling like a terrified child for once.

Spinel shows up without warning. Steven isn't really sure he can handle it at the moment, but Connie has been busy... He's been growing less dependant on Connie. Definitely good, but also opens the door for drifting apart, something her rigorious study schedule doesn't help. He's still been having his...episodes...But they've been less frequent. His therapist says if he keeps improving, he'll eventually have nothing to worry about.
My other fic, Pearls Before Swine, is canon in this one and occurs simultaneously.

“Isn’t it beautiful?” Kou hears Hanako nearly whisper, almost so quiet he doesn’t hear it. He turns his head back to Hanako, but the spirit doesn’t seem to notice, or at least mind. He just continues staring with his head tipped back, transfixed on the endless sky above them. Kou follows his gaze. Hanako is right, it really is beautiful. With the school closed for the day and most of the lights off, the sky is filled to the brim with stars. There’s so many, Kou can’t help but gasp. He’s never seen so many stars at once. The moon is full and seemingly lights up the sky almost as bright as the sun would. Kou can see why Hanako loves this so much. Who wouldn’t love such a sight?

TBHK characters go to the MHA world to try to save Yashiro, Mitsuba, and Kou, but it’s mostly gonna be focused on Teru and Amane figuring out how to tolerate each other, Aizawa and Amane getting into arguments, Amane being a general annoyance, Amane’s abuse and PTSD, a bit of romance between Kou, Mitsuba, Amane, and Yashiro, and maybe Teru becoming a brother figure to Amane. Like, a good one, one that’s not Tsukasa. Tsukasa will be here, by the way, so uh, look out for that.
