Slowly, he leans forward and rests his head against the steering wheel, phone pressed close to his chest. He wonders if he falls asleep here, will he freeze to death? It’s summer but it still gets cold at night. He knows he's being melodramatic, but it doesn’t stop the tears from welling up behind his eyelids.
Chris will come back. He’s thirteen. He’s just upset. Eddie can make it up to him. All hope is not yet lost.
Yet, the oppressing feeling of hopelessness is hard to wade through, especially when he has to return to a silent home every evening. He rubs his chest and wonders if this is how Bobby felt before he collapsed.
Or; After Chris leaves for Texas and the station is facing Gerard's wrath, Eddie has never felt more isolated. He doesn't know how to handle it, nor if any of this even matters.

Summary
Buck watches as Eddie shovels a large slice of Cap’s lasagna onto his plate. Eddie eats without hesitation and Buck is even more confused. He’d considered a bad stomach, straying away from dairy, a new diet, everything. He even considered an eating disorder, but Eddie doesn’t avoid family dinners, nor does he disappear to the bathroom after. He still worries.
It’s the fourth day in a row that Eddie has passed on a morning coffee from the coffee shop down the road. It’s odd. But it’s not odd enough to mention to anyone else. So, he keeps quiet.
Or; Buck watches Eddie eat less and less, and worries.

Hotch fumbles for a moment, locking the door behind him and trying not to trip over his own feet. He can see his own breath as he sighs; he misses Haley. He yearns to slide into bed beside her after a long day, for her to cuddle in closer. Misses coming home to a warm, loud, bright house, trying not to trip on Jack’s toys strewn across the hall. Now, it’s coming home to dirty dishes, surviving on three hours of sleep and a mind focused on yet another few deaths on his conscience.
Hotch is not in the mood to do laundry just so that he can sleep in clean clothes. He’ll worry about a clean suit for work in the morning.
In which; Hotch deals with living alone badly and struggles to ask for help.

Walking into the firehouse feels like walking to his death: cold, silent, and inevitable. His heart hammers in his chest and he wonders if he’ll ever feel normal again. Buck is helping Bobby in the kitchen, hopping back and forth from the chopping board and stove top. He’s smiling and happy and it’s almost like nothing happened.
I’ve loved you for years, Eddie.
And then Buck looks up and his face falls a fraction.
