One year after the true end, Sunny returns to Faraway Town. (I’ll be posting an update every day for the next seven, so stay tuned for further sunkel silliness!)

Sunny picks up on the third ring. He looks a little flushed, like the video call took him by surprise. When he sees Kel, he shoots him a disapproving glare.
“I know!!!” Kel laughs. It’s true. They both know that Sunny hates phone calls. “I’ll just be a minute, I swear. I’m just too hyped to type, y’know? And I guess I kinda wanted to hear your voice.”
Sunny quirks an eyebrow.
“Pfff. Okay, but you know what I mean, though.”
Sunny tilts his head, conceding the point.
“And it’s been like, a million years!!!!”
The obvious lie finally pries Sunny’s mouth open. “...Three weeks.”

Summary
It’s not just his individual form, though, but the way he interacts with his teammates. Nudging them forward, lifting his chin before he passes them the ball. Basketball is an inherently interactive sport, so it only makes sense that someone as dedicated to it as Kel would know how to be friends with his own team—but there’s more to it than that. Kel’s broad, warm smile seems to fill his teammates with confidence. There’s a reason he’s the captain, and all.
Weirdly, Sunny’s face feels a little hot. He really had been feeling the draft in here a few moments ago—maybe it’s Kel’s jacket? Sunny tugs at the collar as the whole gymnasium bursts into another round of cheers. Looks like someone on the team (Kel’s) made another impressive shot.
Sunny likes Kel’s friends but feels more or less indifferent to the idea of applauding shots his boyfriend doesn’t take. Since he missed that one, though, he claps just in case.
