Ghost can’t keep going after Soap’s death. He’d tried so hard not to grow attached to the Scottish bastard, but he’d failed. Now that he was gone, Simon was losing himself. He can’t do this anymore.

Summary
Price receives a panicked call from Soap at nearly two in the morning. The first words he can understand from John’s frantic rambling are “Simon’s locked himself in the bathroom.” At first, Price is confused. And then it hits him, and so does the panic. He knows he can’t do much, Simon and John being all the way in England, but he can at least try and talk his sergeant through what to do, right?
Or: Simon has a mental breakdown while everyone’s on leave and Johnny isn’t equipped to deal with it.

Simon Riley can’t deal with the holidays. They cause him to remember things he’d rather keep buried. So he drowns them in alcohol back at base every time he’s supposed to take leave. He has some worse habits too. It’s not like he has anyone to go back to anyways. Not like Mactavish has. Not like Gaz, or Roach, or anyone else. He has nothing but memories of a bloody Christmas, until John takes him home.
Or: Simon is sad and John takes him to Scotland for holiday leave, but there’s drama.
