The Facelift tour has officially concluded, and Jerry has been feeling down in the dumps since. Layne decides to plan a special date for Jerry. Since it's a sunny day, Layne takes Jerry to the Space Needle in downtown Seattle, Washington. However, a familiar face appears at the Space Needle during their date, potentially stirring up trouble. Summary
An angsty short story I wrote while having another long night driven by my insomnia and boredom. I think I wrote this around like 4-5 am. Not exactly sure but I was having some intense emotions and needed to write something besides poetry in order to express my feelings. Again, I edited this poorly like my other story so try to enjoy it even if there are some small mistakes. This has a lot of references to Mad Season and the song River of Deceit, hence the title lol. I would say this fic is based during 1995 or 1996 when Layne was taking a break from Alice in Chains and working on the album Above. I'm sorry this is a really fucking depressing story, but enjoy!
Side note - Layne has long hair in this fic just to let you know! (For those of you who need visuals like me)

Jerry frowns, scowling up at Layne, while Layne looks down at him with a smug grin. The ol’ hair bribe never fails him.
“Fine,” he huffs out, practically crawling up Layne’s body until he’s on his feet. Thankfully Layne already has the water running, so it shouldn’t take too long before they can both be back in bed and feeling clean.
