Connor takes a fall while chasing a suspect, badly fracturing his arm. As if the pain isn't enough, he's also losing thirium fast. With no other option, Connor has to deal with the pain while Hank tries to patch him up before he bleeds out.

To think of the scars upon the victim, that sliced upon each limb so deeply and so gratuitously, seemed to tease at his mind. It made him itch, an itch beneath his skin. A sensation that begged for relief, that saturated his thoughts in a blue.

Summary
“Earth to Connor. What the fuck are you doin’?” Hank snaps his fingers in Connor’s face, clearly unimpressed by his wide-eyed shock. Connor takes another moment, trying to find an answer.
In Hank’s left hand, he’s holding his precinct-issued firearm; the manner in which he waves it in the air suggests that he’s angry. Angry? Connor looks back at his face; no more clues there. He tries his own hands. Gunpowder residue lingers on his fingers, but that makes no sense. There’s no thirium to accompany it, just the distinct appearance of sulphur.
Bewildered, Connor turns his palms over so he can’t see the scan anymore.
“I — I don’t know, Lieutenant,” is the answer he eventually gives, but Connor can tell immediately that it’s not the right one by the way Hank’s face crumples up. “I was—”
making a report to CyberLife dies on his tongue.

“Why’d they make you look so goofy,” Hank had said, hatred curling his lips into something angry and disgusted. “And give you that weird voice?”
Connor, a machine, had responded promptly and succinctly and with a little bit more sass than strictly dictated by its programming. It was entirely unbothered by the insult.
Connor, a deviant, months later, is bothered.

At the same time, the palette became unbalanced and joined the brush on the floor with a loud clatter. When he moved to pick them up, his eyes locked onto the paint that had splattered across the surface.

Connor-51 falls to his death with an android named Daniel.
Connor-52 deviates in Jericho and is later killed in a church.
Connor-53 shows up a few hours later on a rooftop, sniper rifle in hand and sights trained on the back of Markus's head.
It's up to Hank to piece together what happened and try to get Connor to deviate again, but Connor has made up his mind. Only one of them will be leaving that rooftop.

Hank dies, killed by the dealers of a new drug: Blue Ice. Connor goes on a warpath, dedicating every waking moment to shutting them down and sending every last one of them to jail.
Only...Hank's not dead. He faked his death (with help from Fowler and Kamski) and is trying to go after the investors' side of the operation while Connor shuts down production. While Connor crumbles under the weight of his suppressed grief, Hank is none the wiser.

Connor paused, frowning. Hank was right, of course. Despite myths that androids didn’t require rest or sustenance at all, androids did need regular replenishing of their thirium supply to replace what was absorbed into their joins or pump. A quick scan revealed his supply was running below optimal levels. “I am still functional, Lieutenant. I am not in urgent need of anything.”
Hank eyed him uncertainly, before giving up and dropping into his chair. “Whatever you say, kid. Wake me up once you’re ready to clean up.”

A gunshot. A few moments. Then stumbling footsteps make their way down the staircase. Hank draws his gun in case it’s the perpetrator, then remembers Connor doesn’t carry a standard weapon, and couldn’t have fired the shot.
The footsteps reach the bottom. Brown eyes meet his. The scene goes quiet. The only sound is thirium drip-drip-dripping on the floor.
“Th-there was…a deviant, upstairs-”
Sometimes Hank really hates his job.
