Summary
Walking into the Chinese restaurant, the first thing Richie “Trashmouth” Tozier sees is Eddie Kaspbrak, and it’s like the floor falls out from underneath him.
Now, Richie hasn’t been in Derry for long, so his memory isn’t great, but what’s left of Eddie is enough to make his stomach turn, and—God, why does he have to look exactly the fucking same? He carved their initials into Kissing Bridge of all places and leaving Derry had made it somehow, conveniently, almost magically easy to forget, but he can’t forget now. Not now. Not when Eddie here, really here, in front of him.
But it takes several near-death encounters, the resurfacing of a repressed traumatic memory, a knife to the face, and the narrowest dodge of the end of the fucking world for him to finally say acknowledge his feelings out loud.
Oh, and a cliff dive.

Summary
Eddie didn’t dare to move toward him. He must have feared Richie’s reaction if he had. They both knew Richie wasn’t the best at expressing himself, and if this became too real for him he’d do what he does best.
Run.
So instead Eddie swallowed the lump that gathered in his throat. He pushed his dark hair back from his eyes with a trembling hand. “I think about you - all the time.” It wasn’t yet a question, and Richie honestly wasn’t sure what to do with that. “I mean - do you ever at least think about me?”
Or, Richie is afraid of what they could be. Eddie chases after him nine years later when his mom died. Lots of flashbacks to high school when Eddie just wanted Richie to see him and Richie was a disaster. Eventually it all works out.

A hand on his wrist stops him – and he looks down to meet the owner. Is Eddie, who looks hurt for a second before his expression changes to something more of curiosity than anything. “Hey, where are you going?” But Richie pulls his arm away and simply says. “Is none of your fucking business.” And he doesn’t intend on sounding so sad – hurt and angry all together but he does. He does because he is tired of them being so dismissive about him.
