Ryland hums. He plops himself down a bit behind Rocky, where the tide barely reaches the soles of his shoes. "Talk to me, bud."
Rocky's carapace twists toward Ryland, and if he had a face, Ryland would guess it'd be softening in his direction. He wets his lips, almost nervous at the presence of such a thought.
"Friend Grace happy, question?" Rocky asks. The song of his voice drags, hesitant.
Or, a gentle conversation between two aliens.

“I should apologize for the inconvenience,” is the first thing Moze says after swallowing. His throat scratches around the words and it feels rough to get his voice out, but he needs to say it. “And the concern. I know there are better things for you to be doing than nursing me at my bedside.”
“Nonsense,” Jiaoqiu chides. “You’re my treasured partner, just as important as any other duty I’m sworn to.” He pauses, stirs the soup in his hands. “More, I’d say.”
Or, Moze rarely gets sick, but when he does, it’s debilitating. Luckily, Jiaoqiu is there to patch him right up.

“Hm,” Diego purses his lips as he brings the bottle to his mouth, then makes a face when the cola goes down, “rubbish. Are all colas supposed to taste like you’re washing your mouth out with chemicals?”

“Great!” Gallagher gently squeezes the boy’s shoulder and then turns to Boothill, pointing a finger gun in his direction. “How about we grab some Dreamy Cones to start then, hm?”
Misha’s face lights up almost instantly, and Boothill has to stifle a laugh at his complete inability to hide his emotions. Kids are still kids, no matter where in the universe, it seems.
Or, Boothill agrees to help Gallagher babysit Misha for a few days. They all end up enjoying it a little more than anticipated.
