Marco already has a best friend. It's Jake. The thing is, Jake doesn't exactly have time for him anymore, between saving the world and kind of having a girlfriend. Anyway, he can't ask Jake to help him when his dumb heist goes wrong and he has to fix it with a double heist. Ax already has a best friend too, but he's bored enough and oblivious enough to be the perfect co-conspirator. But is Ax really the oblivious one?
(This is a full rewrite of a fic originally released in 2016, now with more jokes and a coherent plot.)

“So should I ever talk about it, or just never bring it up? I can keep not bringing it up,” Richie says one day, propping his chin in his hand as he leans on Eddie’s hospital bed.
“My arm?” Eddie asks blandly. “The lack of it, you mean.”
“Well, yeah, I don’t want to, like… I dunno.”
“You can talk about it. It’s alright.” Eddie’s face twitches a little funny in the way it does when he thinks of something funny, and he gestures at where his arm’s been cut off above the elbow. He has sutures still, but there are bandages over it. “All right. No left.”

After Derry, Richie doesn't want to let Eddie out of his sight. He comes along with him to New York, and they start the rest of their lives together. Hopefully Eddie doesn't mind.

rediscovered this fic and remembered just how fucking enamoured i am with it all. leslie is a master of language and its almost something spiritual to witness it. the atmosphere? untouchable and so so beautiful. i could lay my hand across the surface of it like i could a lazy river. cannot recommend this enough
