Pearl wakes up in the middle of the night, messy, filled with more panic than her little puppy brain can manage. She runs into the woods, hiding in a scrappy stick fort, just trying her best to calm down before she can get back home and fix what she'd done.
But Cleo's voice calls out her name…
Pearl knows she's screwed.;Or, Pearl has an accident and hides in the woods as she panics. Cleo finds her and tries her best to calm her down, but Pearl's head is stuck in a flashback and convinced that they must be furious with her. Slowly, ever so slowly, Cleo manages to clean up the nightmare and get a little, self-hating puppy to sleep.

Tilly nuzzles against Gem, then barks loudly and paws at the door. The message is clear: I trust you. Pearl’s in there. She needs help.
“It’s okay,” Gem says in a soft voice. “I’m going to help her. She’ll be okay.” Without another word, she pushes the door open and allows Tilly to follow her inside. She’s two steps into the room when she stops, frozen in horror.
Pearl is sitting in a pile of powdered snow.
