Grantaire walked outside and waited to see if the blond haired singer would walk out. He grinned as he saw the mess of curls was followed with the clicking of heals. He took a breath and walked up to them.
"Ok, here's the truth. I couldn't have signed you if I wanted to, all right?"
"...ok"
"I didn't come from a signing tonight; I haven't signed anybody in seven years. My label's completely lost all faith in me."
The blonde gave him a look, "So why did you give me your card?"
"Force of habit. If I look homeless," he gestured to himself, "it's because I practically am. I left my home about a year or so ago. I'm sleeping on a shitty mattress in some shitty apartment, and I wasn't celebrating tonight. I was drinking my ass off standing on a subway platform ready to kill myself, and then I heard your song." He took a breath before asking, "Want to get a beer?"
Giving him an incredulous look, they said, "Sure."

With all the noise and violence of a bolt of lightning, the pieces click into place. The Chancellor, Fives had said. The Chancellor had known about the inhibitor– no, the control chips.
Dooku had told him. On Geonosis all those years ago. Obi-Wan’s blood roars through his ears. The Republic under the control of a Sith Lord, he’d said. Hundreds of Senators. And who else has access to so many people, to so much influence, so much power. A person who had known about the chips.
Obi-Wan’s stomach drops out from under him. He's going to be sick.

Summary
After spending years under HYDRA's control, the last thing Bucky wants is to return to their ranks. He does so only because his situation provides an invaluable opportunity to infiltrate the most impenetrable army in the galaxy — his own discomfort is a small price to pay for the lives he might save in the future.
Three months is all he can take before he decides to throw his cover and find his way back to Steve, HYDRA hot on his heels. With him, Bucky has a memory drive of stolen information and a second personality sharing his body, courtesy of HYDRA’s brainwashing.
All Bucky wants is to deliver the information to Steve and the Alliance and finally return home, but when his ship is damaged he has no choice but to stop for emergency repairs. He's directed to 'The Mechanic,' who can supposedly help, but Bucky isn't exactly comforted when he meets the man in question.
But, with HYDRA breathing down his neck, Bucky doesn't have a choice — he's going to have to trust this Tony, whether he likes it or not.
