Picks up at the end of vol 1.
Mike and Will are flirty, need I say more?
Will is still conscious enough to get into the Humvee with Mike pushing him in. Joyce and Erica clamber into the front. Mike buckles Will in as his eyes roll back in his head, and he passes out. Mike lets out a gasp. “Will!” He grabs Will’s jaw, examining his face. Will’s eyelids are fluttering, his entire face is wet with sweat, and his hair is still damp from that leaky pipe. Experimentally, Mike runs his thumb over Will’s cheekbone; he doesn’t startle, only leans further into the touch, unconscious of what's occurring.

The monster watches as the glass shatters, sparkling shards twinkling in the dark. His breath leaves him as he careens over the woman on the floor. Following his Raven out of the window, as she floats more than falls. He watches as she hits the concrete. The growl that emits from him is unearthly.

"What?" His mouth feels dry. His hands are sweating. He can feel a flush creeping up his neck.
Jane repeats her words between cackles and wheezes, "I said... I'm so hungry... I could eat... Will Byers!"
All of the kids are laughing now, some big inside joke that Mike is the butt of. He feels sick. He feels something he can't place.
"How do you know that name?" He asks, the words catching in his throat like bile.

Fifteen hours.
It had been fifteen hours since Will Byers had crumpled to the ground inside MAC-Z after saving Mike Wheeler’s life. Fifteen hours since the kids had been pulled into the depths of hell and Mike had crawled his way to Will avoiding the flames that licked at his arms, had grasped onto him tightly and pulled him towards the Radio Shack. Fifteen hours since he and Joyce dragged him half unconscious through the dark tunnels, where they’d ran into a terrified and frantic Lucas on their way. Fifteen long hours since Mike’s whole world had been turned upside down, again.
That was funny, and frankly Mike was unaware if it even meant anything to any of them anymore.

Picks up after volume 1 of Stranger Things season 5, Will Byers is weak and unconscious on the couch, and Mike Wheeler endlessly worries about him. All while having trouble accepting what he will slowly come to realize.

“You can’t be here,” Gi-hun says, rough, hushed enough for the bystanders to not catch. They probably still do, the silence in the dormitory deafening.
“You weren’t supposed to be here,” Young-il says in return, leaning his head on the wall. He sighs and closes his eyes briefly. “You weren’t supposed to find out like this.”
