He takes in a heavy breath and pretends these cheap sunglasses hide his dark circles as they wheel the poor kid in.
"Hey," Gojo rasps. "Miss me?"
Megumi's eyes go wide in horror. His jaw hangs slightly agape. He's breathing too fast. He doesn't say a word.
“Fushiguro?” Yuji's hand hovers over his shoulder. Megumi smacks it away harshly.
He trembles as he gets to his feet, then trips unceremoniously toward the foot of Gojo's hospital bed. Satoru instinctively reaches out to catch him, but he's too slow in his sewn-up state, and Yuta gets there first.
There's tears running down the kid's face. Guilt is a weighty boulder between the two of them.
Megumi claps his shaking hand over his mouth, but he can’t contain an emotional dry heave. Yuta escorts him to the trashcan so he can sob and vomit freely in terror.
Gojo sits there stupidly, unable to do anything else.

Gojo lives to pick up the pieces of Megumi. And there's a lot to pick up.

“We’ve been having a lot of trouble with him, and I don’t believe you’ve been able to meet with the principal or counselor about it,” The secretary, or maybe mid-level administrator, starts. “I don’t know how involved you’ve been, but-”
“Not very,” Gojo cuts her off. “Barely met this guy actually,” He rolls his eyes as he walks over to Megumi and swings the backpack at his feet over his shoulder. “Come on, Megs, let’s go.”
“I think it would be helpful if we could just chat for a bit-” Her tone takes on a frustrated edge, but Gojo’s used to it… Sounds like his employers.
“I’ll think about it,” He pulls Megumi up by the back of his collar. The kid swats at him, but he turns his infinity on. “Get in the car,” Gojo nudges him as he gets to his feet, face red with frustration. “I just bring him back next week, right?” He asks as he follows him out.
“Wait-”
“Okay, he’s your problem again on Monday,” Gojo kicks the doorstop as he steps back into the main corridor. That archway is clearly supposed to remain open, but the slam behind them is a bit satisfying.

Alhaitham exhales roughly and turns back towards his room. Moments later, he hears six pairs of footsteps following him.
He swings his door open and raises a brow.
Kaveh’s eyes narrow. He peeks inside, taking in the muddy floors, the flowers strewn all over the place, and the leaves scattering the floors. Alhaitham watches Kaveh scan the room before his eyes flit over Alhaitham, and then the Aranara, and then Alhaitham again.
Through it all, the Aranara continue to stare at Alhaitham like he’s the biggest disappointment they’ve ever had the misfortune of meeting.
Kaveh’s lips twitch.
“Don’t you dare.”
