Summary
The woman’s fingers curl around the blaster in his hand. Perhaps it is an amount of trust he cannot explain, or a faith he did not know he was still capable of, or simply his body giving up on him—but Jet’s grip loosens.
The gun does not have a stun setting. She removes the laser cart instead, then holsters it. Her eyes stay on him, wary, but something in her face has softened. Into the sudden silence she speaks the words that he will remember for the rest of his life.
In the dim light of the first floor of the Lighthouse, Jet Sikuliaq reinvents himself.
(Jet, Buddy, and the trust that grows from endless time.)

Summary
Detective Steel’s an odd one, Rita thinks, kinda like her. He cuts off her rambling but he’s never proper mad about it, not really, and he complains about her snack-powdered fingers but he always buys her more when she asks, so what’s she supposed to do, let them expire?
She’s not not smart. She knows most people think she’s too hard to work with. But Detective Steel keeps up with her just fine.
(Rita, Juno, and the home you build in twenty years.)

Juno goes with Nureyev after the events of Final Resting Place- but he quickly realizes that spontaneously leaving everything he knows behind while in a really bad mental place might not have been the best decision after all.
To his surprise, however...it isn't only his problems that end up catching up with them.

Summary
AU where Buddy hires Duke and Dahlia Rose instead of Nureyev and Juno so they have to play married while also acclimating to the Aurinko Crime Family:
Duke and Dahlia Rose are two of the best thieves on this side of Saturn. They robbed the Utgard Express and disappeared without a trace, leaving one of the solar system’s most infamous thieves in the dust and pulling off an impossible heist to boot. They stole the Ruby 7 without so much as a single hitch, and there are still whispers of their prowess every time a high-profile crime is committed without any name attached to it.
They also don’t exist.
Alternatively, what happens if Juno’s trying to communicate better, Nureyev’s trying to file things away, and Buddy takes her “fake dating” style of matchmaking to the next level?

Summary
Juno was always so warm, and to Nureyev, whose hands were nearly always cold to the touch, this was a blessing. He cherished having his body against his each night to keep him from freezing in the already chilly Carte Blanche. Juno seemed to sense this, and ran his hands up and down Nureyev’s body when they laid together, almost absent-mindedly, chasing away the goosebumps and the shivers.
His hands found Nureyev’s chest, skimming gently over the surgery scars there and the raised ridges of his ribs. Passing over the bone that jutted out from his hips, running up the line of his spine that poked out from his skin, and drifted across his prominent collarbones.
Juno frowned. “Honey, you’re so skinny,” he said in a hushed murmur.

“Are you nervous?” Juno asked, reaching behind himself to pull one of the belts across his back to buckle at his shoulder.
“Never,” Nureyev said, glancing at Juno. The light bounced off of the metallic rims of his glasses. “Are you?”
“No,” Juno lied. “I think it’ll run smoothly.”
Nureyev smiled, capping the lipstick and wrapping his arms around Juno’s waist, buckling the last belt. “Of course it will. Now, are you going to wear that gold eyeliner I bought for you last week-”
“I still highly doubt that you actually bought it-”
“-or are you going to continue ogling me in the mirror?”

Summary
Something about the kid made him a little harder to treat. Vespa didn’t want to think about why that was, but she had a feeling she was going to have to come to terms with it at some point soon. He reminded her a little too much of herself.
That was probably why they all landed face-first in this mess to begin with. It didn’t matter how many years Vespa had spent as a hardened medical professional. She couldn’t get rid of that soft spot for hurt kids if she wanted to, especially if those hurt kids just happened to be teenage thieves fending for themselves, pitted against the world without much more than the clothes on their backs and a good knife.

Summary
The knock on my door comes during early afternoon, according to the ship's time, and mid-morning according to the time of the planet we are orbiting. It is short, and loud enough to be heard while not shaking the metal of the door, which is how I know before I open it that it is not Rita.
It is Peter Ransom. To be more accurate, it is the man whose name was given to me as Peter Ransom.
This does not make me as happy as if it had been Rita.

Summary
Peter Nureyev had always been an outsider. He worked alone, and when he didn’t he never drifted close enough to the surface of whatever alias he was wearing for him to be anything other than a file in a rather overstuffed cabinet. He had done the song and dance of being himself and the universe had not been kind to whoever that person was. And so he wasn’t—that person, that is. Peter Nureyev did not stop to be Peter Nureyev when he could help it.
--
There are some things about being on a crew that Nureyev didn't anticipate. Sometimes you accidentally submit to the mortifying ordeal of being known and it's okay.

Summary
Peter Ransom was aloof, flawless, and put-together. He was the man with a plan plus a half-dozen other plans on top. He was unflappable, virtually unfazed by any goings-on that did not match his expectations. Failure rolled off his back, and even then, Peter Ransom would say something snappy and witty about how failure was only an opportunity or something.
Peter Nureyev, however, was a tower of tightly woven anxieties, desperate for approval but terrified of being known enough to receive it...

Summary
“Hey!” Juno scolded, swatting Nureyev’s hand away from the bowl of cookie dough he’d been trying to sneak his fingers into.
“Oh, come now, Juno- You won’t even let me help! Surely I can at least taste test for you.” Nureyev whined.
“Okay, one: I was going to let you help until you almost substituted baking soda for flour.” He shook his head incredulously. “And two:” he continued before Nureyev could interject, “The only thing you’ll gain by tasting raw dough is a potential trip to Vespa for E Coli or Salmonella.”
