"What?" Will replied, gently smiling.
"I feel like you're inside my head or something" he let the words slip out, half a laugh softening them, but his eyes betrayed how much he meant it.
Will gave him a small questioning smile, now he's the one that doesn't get it.
"Feels different with you." Will swallowed, like he wanted to take words back but can't.
But the damage was done. Mike was already burning his gaze into him, a flicker of something unreadable in his face.
"You'll get me thinking you actually like me—" Mikes grin sticks for a second, but there's this nervous edge to it, his shoulders stiffening like he's bracing for impact.
Will went still, like even breathing might give him away.

A certain scene from the movie popped up, causing Will’s mouth to drop open and for his eyes to widen as he soaked in what was on the TV.
Of all the scenes in the movie, Mike had returned The Outsiders paused during the few, brief seconds when Sodapop was getting out of the shower in the background of the shot. Sodapop haphazardly covered himself with a towel, and then wrapped the towel just, like, stupidly low around his hips, his chest still wet and bare from the shower.

Summary
"Chance bit the inside of his lip. Truthfully, part of him believed Jason’s Hellfire theory was a desperate story fueled by the grief of losing Chrissy, but the more Chance watched Hawkins fall apart, literally, the more he felt his old logic snap into place. Maybe Jason had been right, the town had a wound and something crawled out of it, something that hid in plain sight. Chance didn’t believe in revenge, the Bible says justice belonged to God or the law. But, if there really was an evil in this town, wouldn’t it be just as evil to do nothing about it? To let it happen?"

After losing two of his friends in the Hawkins “earthquake,” Chance joins a church grief group that believes Will Byers is the vessel for Satan. To prove them wrong, Chance agrees to befriend Will, but the closer he gets, the more the lines between faith, fear, obsession and love start to blur.

Summary
Will’s eyes sting with tears, and his nose prickles with heat. He feels like he’s burning, like he’s on fire. But Mom’s right—he doesn’t have to be afraid. She knows, and she loves him, and she’s not leaving. All that’s left is the words. And he shouldn’t be scared of words. After all he’s been through, if what takes him down is the English alphabet, then the world has a really fucked up sense of humor.
He just needs to rip off the bandaid.
