“This is not funny,” Clark hisses.
“Of course not,” Bruce says seriously. His voice is even, though his eyes are creasing with contained laughter.
“You’re laughing!”
“Am not.” Bruce’s brow furrows with mock sternness. The line of his mouth wavers.
“Unbelievable,” Clark mutters, throwing his hands up in exasperation. It would’ve been more dramatic if Clark wasn’t currently four inches tall and standing on Bruce’s desk like a misplaced toy.

Summary
She gets her scrubs off and a pair of sweatpants on. When Frank calls to her, “We don’t have shells, is spaghetti okay?” her entire night is rocked, her body reacting before her brain can at the subtle change. The request would be perfectly normal for any other person, but it leaves Mel shirtless because her executive functioning gave up, her sport’s bra squeezing tight around her chest as the panic sets in. Her body settles into nothing but upset, and her lungs start shaking with tears that won’t fall. “Mellie?”
As soon as the bedroom door falls open, Frank finds her standing at the edge of the bed half dressed, a shaking hand to her mouth as she tells her body, it’s fine, you’re fine.
When Mel finally breaks after her shift, Frank is there to remind her it's not stupid that it's over a bowl of pasta.
