“Sorry, uh, I’m not doing this right,” she says.
“Doing what right?” Eddie asks.
“Actually, sorry, one sec, this is bugging me,” she says before flicking her wrist in the direction of the star. It shifts where it sits atop the tree, untouched, straightening ever so slightly.
“Much better,” she says, turning back to Eddie with a smile.
“H-how did you do that?” Eddie asks.
“I’m your ghost of Christmas past,” she explains, as if it’s the simplest thing on earth. In Eddie’s—albeit, sleep deprived—mind, it certainly is not.
“My…huh?”
OR
On the night before Christmas, Eddie is visited by three (or four) ghosts who show him what it means to let go, to be loved, and to love someone back.

Summary
A fun night out after a shift takes a turn for the worst when Buck goes out for air.
This one’s for all you NDE enjoyers.
OR
He lives for Buck's beam of delight when he chooses to turn on his heel and flee from his big, embarrassing fiancé. Buck is perfectly undeterred, trailing after him just as quickly, continuing the serenade all the way to the table—earning peals of laughter from their friends.
"You don't need money with a face like that, do ya, honey?" Buck croons, leaning in to kiss Eddie before pulling away and breaking into a guitar solo.
Eddie shakes his head, so fucking fond and amused that this is the man he'd fallen head over heels for.
He doesn't think anything of it when Buck tells them that he's going to grab some air—something they've all done at this very club a hundred times, each of them familiar

Meanwhile, Eddie deals with his Abuela’s estate while trying to reach Buck, who’s gone off the grid during a spur-of-the-moment trip out of town.
These things may be related.

Summary
Eddie’s life had gone to shit in roughly every possible way.
He felt about two seconds away from breaking every hour of every day, like someone had stepped up in front of him, shoved him down, smashed the life he’d been working on, and left him to rebuild from the ground up.
And so, really, the last thing he needed when he got home at the end of a long shift was to find a massive, weird-ass dog curled up on his front porch. And yet, there it was.
