Summary
Ever wonder what was going on in Hua Cheng’s mind the day Xie Lian ascended for the 3rd time? Of course you do. We all do. But sadly MXTX won’t tell us and we just have to imagine for ourselves.
This fic follows Hua Cheng’s point of view from Xie Lian’s ascension up through their first sleepover at Puqi Shrine. It includes what Hua Cheng might have been doing just off screen, waiting for those perfect moments to reveal himself, and what he was thinking during their first conversation in eight hundred years.
This fic details three “chance” encounters with His Highness: once as a butterfly, once in his true form, and once as ‘San Lang’.

Summary
This is the sequel to "Paper Memories (Part One)." This is Part Two of Two.
Part Two is about Faith and Forgiveness.Xie Lian has found himself in a rather unusual and dire situation.
Not only does he have two amnesiac ghost kings cooped up in his shrine, but Hua Cheng has mysteriously regressed into the form of a child. While Xie Lian is determined to return his Beloved's memories, he also has the help of Shi Qingxuan who is equally driven to restore and confront the person he once considered his best friend. It will be up to the two of them to track down the powerful memory-eating steam spirit who has done this, and with any luck, find a way to return all that has been stolen away by her. This includes Xie Lian’s own lost memories. What could have driven him to nearly commit genocide?

Summary
This "fic" is a collection of prompts for 2025's Whumptober Challenge. Its about equal parts Emotional and Physical Whump, mainly aimed at Xie Lian and Hua Cheng but there's a sprinkling of others too.
To challenge myself, I've put a word cap at 2500 words per prompt. Just a lil bite.
The vast majority of them are canon compliant bc AUs often take too many words to set up haha. In the Chapter Summaries I will note Canon Compliance/Divergence, Time Period, & Ships to give you a snapshot and there will be individual Content Warnings in the Notes.

Summary
A series starting with the 31 prompts I did for Whumptober.
Fics added after are either kinder versions of the prompts or they are continuations where the stories got cut off due to word count considerations (I had a cap of 2500 words).They each will be their own short fics/one shots and you shouldn't have to go back and read the prompts from the Whumptober Collection Fic to enjoy them.
Honestly, the majority of the ones I want to continue are the hualian #Different 3rd Meetings which I was only able to scratch the surface of because of the word cap lol.

Summary
After Hua Cheng disappears in a flurry of silver butterflies, Xie Lian waits for his return. Rumours whisper across the land. Crimson Rain Sought Flower has returned and is ruling over Ghost City. And he doesn't remember Xie Lian at all.
“Did daozhang think he could come here, flash his enchanted eyes, and pull one over on the Ghost King?” Hua Cheng coos.
Xie Lian’s teeth begin to chatter. “My enchanted…my…aha—”
“I have never seen a performance quite like it in all my long years. Daozhang must be very experienced in getting his way just by fluttering his long lashes. But is he truly foolish enough to believe this act will work on me? Does he think I will fall for his tricks?”

“Oh,” he said, once his eyes focused and he realized Wuming was bent over the cooking pot in the middle of the room. His heart beat in double-time and his stomach flipped, although he couldn’t explain why. He was just suddenly deeply anxious, certain the idyllic picture before him was about to crack like a mirror.
But it didn’t. Wuming glanced towards the door and immediately lit up to see him.
“Your Highness! Welcome back.” He sounded so earnest that Xie Lian had to smile, casting aside his strange unease without another thought.

Summary
Xie Lian's last believer is so fervently devoted to him that he seems to think mostly in the form of prayer. That is a terrifying prospect. Xie Lian has never heard of such a case before, not even in hypotheticals, and he finds himself hoping, for his believer's sake, that there is some other explanation for this phenomenon.
Whatever the reason, a low stream of his believer's thoughts hum in the back of Xie Lian's consciousness.
His believer does not seem to be aware of it.

When Xie Lian ascends for the third time, he is welcomed back to godhood with prayers that he hadn't expected: an ongoing stream of thought from his sole remaining believer. He gathers quickly that this believer is very old, very powerful, and very, very much in love with him.
For his believer's sake, Xie Lian can cast a spell to shut the prayers out—but only if he has access to spiritual energy.

“Why is gege sitting like that?” San Lang asked softly.
Xie Lian blinked his eyes open. He'd been falling asleep, his body still so tired from everything it had been through in the depths of the cave.
“Hm?” How was he sitting? Xie Lian thought about it for a moment, and then he realised. Oh.
He was sitting with his back against the maple tree, his head tilted slightly backwards and to the side to expose his neck, the insides of his wrists turned upwards, resting on his thighs.
Xie Lian had trained himself to sit like that in the presence of vampires, so there was less chance of them pulling on and twisting his numb arms or hurting his neck.

After an accident, banished fairy Xie Lian becomes the unwilling guest of a sect of vampires. When another powerful vampire destroys the sect and takes Xie Lian home to help him recover, Xie Lian is faced with the challenge of convincing his saviour that he really really wouldn't mind if he were to drink some of his blood.
