Giyuu sighed. “You shouldn’t value my life that much,” he insisted, looking Rengoku in the eyes. His fiery eyes shone under the sunlight.
“Well, if you don’t value your own life, I shall do it for you!” he remarked, grinning widely.
“You’re the only one who does,” Giyuu mumbled again, suddenly averting his eyes from Rengoku’s own.
Tomioka Giyuu had convinced himself for years that he didn’t deserve to enjoy life. Little did he know, Rengoku Kyojuro was willing to do anything to convince him the opposite.
He didn’t think Giyuu was going to kiss him, though.

Kyojuro didn’t die after the Mugen Train incident and survived his battle with Akaza. But word soon spreads that the pink haired demon, who managed to flee the scene just before dawn, has developed an intense obsession with Kyojuro and wants him dead once and for all.
Giyuu is sent out to accompany Kyojuro on his missions and to secretly serve as his bodyguard while the rest of the Corps tries to track down Akaza and slay him. But Giyuu has never spent this much time alone with the Flame Hashira, and as new and unknown feelings begin to bud inside him, he struggles to understand himself and the emotions he is starting to feel towards Kyojuro.
