In a world of soulmates, everything was written in the name of fate. When a person has finally reached adulthood at 21, a unique soulmate marking will appear on their wrist. Once they've bonded with their other half, their hearts will connect making them bound to be partners for life—whether platonically or romantically. Their lives would then depend on each other.
However, if a soulmate shall develop a one-sided love for their fated mate—say that one of them is in love with the other and the other rejects their love—symptoms of Hanahaki disease (also known as the Soulmate's Curse) will develop which can result in death if not treated.
This is a story about best friends Kang Taehyun & Choi Beomgyu who became soulmates overnight.

Summary
The Grims were a legend that instilled fear in the hearts of all who heard of them, for they were the harbingers of death. Only 1% of the human population were blessed with this dark gift, bestowed upon them when they reached the age of 15. The eyes of the Grims were an ominous black, glowing with an otherworldly light whenever death was near. They wore masks to conceal their faces, a symbol of their deadly calling. The Grims felt no pity, no remorse, and served only one purpose: to collect the souls of the departed. They held the power of life and death in their hands, but were forbidden to grant the gift of life to anyone on the brink of death.
Jeon Jeongguk had been a Grim since the age of 15, spending the last 6 years collecting the souls of the departed without a shred of compassion. He had denied pleas from families begging him to spare their loved ones, for he was merciless. But when he comes face-to-face with Kim Taehyung, his childhood friend whom he had cut ties with after receiving his gift, Jeongguk's resolve wavers. Taehyung, the boy he had once held dear, was on the verge of death.
"Life is dictated by the whims of fate. And fate is not mine to command."

Beomgyu had never been handled as roughly as so. His body was melting, giving up and needed a support. The skateboy was like a drug to him, opening his eyes to new experience—freedom was addictive. It felt so wrong, yet so right to kiss him.
That night the tycoon's son had the first taste of his rebellious self. He registered how dangerous Taehyun could be, with the moron relentlessly peeling off his norms by layers, revealing the truth within him.
It should be a little attraction that would fade eventually if not god had his plan, it was a fatal one. No doubt Beomgyu was very different from other Celestians. Teasing him, ruining his life plan was thrilling, Taehyun couldn't wait to break more of his rules.
