Gen wants to hole back up with his console. This was a bad idea. His parents always said fresh air was good for him; maybe that’s why he can only think of them now. He would do anything to get away from these thoughts, even homework. Lost, he doesn’t register his surroundings, and bumps into someone’s back.
Caught off guard, he threatens, “Hey! Watch it!” Then he notices the pole in their hands, and the fighting stance he’d knocked them from.
Still, if Gen is a delinquent, he might as well be unreasonable. The person turns around, and his eyes look smiley, like a cat’s, even though his lips turn down. Purplish-black hair in a bowl cut—who even has that nowadays? He’s been doing this for a while, from the sweat glistening on his neck, underneath his jaw, and soaking through the back of his plain white tee. Something unrecognisable like electricity and fire courses through Gen.
“Consider doin’ that yerself,” is the lofty reply Gen receives before Bowl Cut turns his back to him and continues his swinging motions.

Scott loved Jimmy, and he loved living together. For the most part, it was incredibly domestic. There was, however, one thing that really bothered Scott.
Jimmy left his messes everywhere. He wasn’t messy in the usual sense - he always made sure to wash his dishes and clean up after himself when he cooked or baked. The real issues came with Jimmy’s feathers.
Jimmy shed his feathers all the time. It had never been so bad before, even when Scott would preen Jimmy’s wings. He had no idea why he was suddenly finding small, yellow feathers in every nook and cranny. He’d flip over a pillow on the couch and reveal one or two, or he’d move a blanket and a few would flutter out, or - on one occasion - he would open the pantry and find a damn feather next to the bread. Scott could live with the feathers scattered around the house, but the ones in their bedroom were becoming particularly annoying. There were tons of feathers in their bed at every given moment.
It was really starting to get on Scott's nerves.

Somehow, some way, a different Jimmy, one with haunted eyes and easy triggers, keeps momentarily taking over Scott’s husband Jimmy. But it’s still Jimmy, if a traumatised and terrified version, and Scott will be damned if he doesn’t take care of every iteration of his husband.

Why is he always crying getting home from the bar? There's a passenger rating, also, he's pretty sure, but he has decidedly not checked it. 1 star. He got snot all over my backseat.
Eddie sniffles, sighs, and blows a bit of air out of the corner of his mouth, watching the hair that usually hides his eye dance in the air before falling flatly back onto his cheek, just as miserable as he feels. At this point, an outsider might think he just really hates getting in other people's cars. Or that he's crying thinking about the money he’s wasted by not doing the ‘wait and save’ option, trading ‘sitting alone at the bar for 20 extra minutes’ for ‘saving two dollars.’ That does sting just slightly, though it always stings when he has to spend money to get home, when he should already have a ride.
That’s the crux of it, really. It would be the most obvious data trendline he’s ever mapped for a presentation if it had landed on his desk at work, tucked away in a manila folder. Causation and correlation. He knows why he's always crying when he calls an Uber home from the bar. It's because he's having to call one at all.
It's because Benny isn't taking him home.
