Summary
Jonathan doesn’t really know Eddie, but he knows of Eddie. Everyone does. Another one of Hawkins’ finest, with his last name stitched permanently to his first. That’s Al Munson’s kid. He’s trouble.
It might as well be Byers. It has a similar ring to it. Laced with rumors and preceded by reputation. Their fathers used to hang out. Drinking buddies down at the only local pub that hadn’t kicked them out yet. But that was before.
OR: In the aftermath of the worst week of his life, Jonathan is grasping at straws trying to stay afloat. Eddie Munson might have just the thing to help him out.

Summary
Jonathan and Steve haven't spoken in months. Steve almost prefers it that way, because at least he knows how to act. Don't get too close, don't get caught staring, don't let anyone know--they're easy rules to follow.
But, when Jonathan goes missing, and the quiet town of Hawkins is suddenly not-so-quiet, it becomes harder and harder for Steve to hide the truth. He's not even sure what the truth is, anymore. He's not sure he wants to find out.

A rewrite of S1 centered on the premise: What if Jonathan went missing instead of Will? (And: What if Steve and Jonathan were childhood friends turned enemies turned lovers turned enemies again?)Series

Summary
By the time Steve actually gets to meet the Byers family, the whole of them, not just the lanky beautiful boy he keeps scrambling in through a window to see, there’s a whole other problem, aside from the secrets that Jon and Hop are hiding from them.
The whole other problem is the tiny telepathic child who’s hovering awkwardly by Hop’s side. And the monsters leaking out of the woods. Real monsters too, not like the one that Jon likes to pretend he is.
or: Steve and Jonathan stumbling towards something like forever, even as children with egos the size of Texas, frisbee haters, and the supernatural interfere.

“You know what’s funny about this?” Robin says, a smirk on her face that Steve doesn’t trust on principle.
“Nothing?” Steve suggests.
“You and Jonathan have, like, the complete opposite taste in music.”
Steve sighs, long and suffering. “Yeah, Robin. I’m aware of that.”
Or: modern AU where Steve and Jonathan are exes who still share the same Spotify account that they use to purposefully annoy each other as opposed to talking about their problems.

Summary
He hadn’t even made it twelve hours with things broken off with Jonathan before he’d gone out and done something batshit insane. And it’s not like he got drunk and woke up naked in his yard–something innocuous to the rest of the world, only really an embarrassment to himself–no, because that would be too simple. Instead, he’d gone and dragged the majority of Hawkins’ population into the fray.
“Okay,” he mutters, finally facing himself in the mirror. “You messed up, okay? You fucked up, and things are bad, but there has to be a way out of this.”
His reflection blinks back at him, offering neither answers nor solace for his current predicament.
Here's a free tip if you're ever looking to live in a town like Hawkins, Indiana: never pay a cheerleader to perform a love spell on your sort-of ex-boyfriend.

“Not into the whole superhero thing, then?” Steve asks Nancy.
“Of course she isn’t,” Jonathan mutters. “Nancy cares about real journalism.”
Steve raises his eyebrows. “And Spider-Man isn’t?”
“A man in tights swinging from webs?” Jonathan deadpans. “Definitely not, no.”
In which: Jonathan is the unfortunate Daily Bugle intern tasked with taking pictures of New York's new favorite superhero, Steve struggles with the trials and tribulations of maintaining a secret identity, and Nancy is just trying to do some actual goddamn investigative journalism for once.
Or, an au where Steve is Spider-Man.

Summary
Wake up. Vomit. Try and hide a massive hangover. Avoid Nancy. Put on a suit. Drink water. Drink more water. Give the best damn speech of all time, one that puts Mike's pedantic bullshit one to shame. Clink glasses with Steve, because yeah—his was definitely better. Hug Mrs. Wheeler, offering her his congratulations. Do the same with the groom. Ask how Ted is doing. Share a dance with Robin. Eat cake. Retire to his hotel room. Fall asleep and—
Wake up.
It's Tuesday again. The sort of day where the sun only rises to humiliate you.
Jonathan blinks. Okay. Let's try this again. They've only got eternity, and one of these days something has got to work, right?

Summary
Steve Harrington has turned out to be a lot like a stray cat―the particular genre of stray cat Lonnie insisted Frog was: The kind that’s not really a stray at all, but looks so cute and sweet and pitiful that you can’t help yourself.
Once Jonathan paid him a little attention, he wouldn’t go the hell away. It was impossible to just ignore him, since he seemed to like being ignored―it must’ve been the thrill of the chase. There was a solid six months where he was almost always on the phone or in Jonathan’s bedroom, flipping his fucking hair around and drawling translate this for me, Byers. What’s our friend Robert Smith saying?
Jonathan has tried throwing rocks at him, metaphorically speaking; he’s been mean and he’s been honest; he’s left the most pessimistic parts of himself in charge.
And somehow, despite it all, Steve is still here.
