So listen here. I stay up nearly all night every night doing what you may ask? Well reading fanfiction of course, but only wolfstar fanfiction. So I think it's about time I put together a list. Remus comes second but he almost doesn't mind when Sirius looks like that.
In his mirror, in the spray and rain of Imola, he sees the red mouth of the Red Bull getting closer and, even without the radio telling him, he knows it’s Sirius. He shifts the car trying to keep the inner line of the corner, calculating how far it is to the DRS zone, how much time he has to hold him off. He can almost hear the crowds after the growl of his engine, the hissing rush of rain beneath his tyres, the roar of Sirius behind him.
They turn and he catches sight of Sirius turning with him in his mirror, perfectly attuned to him, cutting inwards towards the inside line, and then they’re speeding down the straight and his racing engineer tells him Sirius has DRS. He keeps the lead for maybe one second, two, three, and Sirius goes out of sight for just a moment, right up in his blind spot, and then that red and orange bared-teeth mouth of the car is beside him, beside him, ahead and there’s nothing more he can do. It’s Sirius Black on fresh tyres in the wet, nobody can beat that.
