It had been a long time since Tommy felt comfortable in his house. He tried, god knows he tried to belong. In his house, in Pogtopia, in Logsteadshire, in Las Nevadas, with Wilbur, in Snowchester. Nothing stuck. He was always one bad day from being kicked out or running away. He thought he had belonged in L'manburg, but that didn't last. It wasn't meant to be – or that's what he had to tell himself every morning, anyway, repeating someone else's lines and trying to ignore the explosions that were laced between the words.

my take on the final few weeks of third life. the timeline is most certainly fucked up, its been years since I watched third life and my perception of it has been irreparably damaged by fics and the like

He smiles gently, sorrowfully, with too much earnestness in his eyes. Scar kneels down, blood and water lapping at his sides, and slowly guides your outstretched sword to his neck.
“Wait,” you choke out.
“You can kill me.”
“What — no,” you whisper. It feels like a scream.
“For —” his voice falters. “For everything you’ve done to me to keep me alive this long, you may slay me and take the enchanter.”
And — honestly, it didn’t matter if you’d just lost a life.
“No, I can’t —”
You don’t want to kill him.
“I can’t do it,” you plead.
But this was always the way it was going to end, wasn’t it?
“The ghosts want a fight,” you say.
One of you has to die anyway. Even if you both know who it will be.

"Do.. this! This whole 'red life' business. It's so hard, because all I want to do all the time is kill and fight, and you and Impulse and everyone walk around like it's no big deal and- and.. I don't know. I just want to know how you all do it." She looks up at him, brows pinched in frustration. "How do you all walk around like nothing's the matter?"
Scott opens his mouth to respond, and closes it again. He remembers his first game. Hell, even his second.

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.

Jay leans against the railing at the bow of Lizzie's ship, wind whipping her hair back. Salty spray lands on her face, tacky as it dries. She can hear Lizzie's crew talking behind her though muffled by the dull roar of the wind in her ears.
She wishes her co-captains were here. She shouldn't have left them. But, as Lizzie has said over and over, she has to do what she can here and now, and not focus on the 'what if'. It's hard. But…there really isn't anything else she can do.
"See anything?" Caspian asks.
"Not yet. But I haven't used the spyglass." Jay does her best to play off her flinch.
"I didn't know your eyesight was that good."
"I'm going to shove you overboard."
"Jay, how could you be so cruel?" Caspian bats his eyes at her, giving her an exaggerated pout.
