Cody is waiting for Obi-Wan Kenobi to finish his business at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, when he's joined in his vigil by a young padawan. The commander thinks that the child is lost, at least until he learns that the youngling is there to meet HIM and find out if all the stories he's heard are real.
“I’m Chaarki. I’m seven.”
“Well, Chaarki,” the commander began, trying to be friendlier than the persona his bulky armor and scarred face likely projected. “What are you doing out here by yourself?”
“I’m not.” The Iktochi padawan shook his horned head. “I’m with you.”
Cody heard himself chuckle. “So you are,” he concurred.
“I wanted to come see you,” Chaarki continued. “After the stories.”
“What stories?”
“The ones Master Obi-Wan tells us."

Overtime, this habit has yielded a small army of mouse droids which Fox likes to use as his part-time personal spies, but he also lets them roam freely as they wish.

That’s not what startles him. There are often changes to senate proceedings, and security is tight enough that he’s truthfully only there are a precautionary measure at most, so any concern that this might be an assassination attempt of some kind is minimal – what startles him is the sight of those piloting the pod, clad in white and red plastoid armour.
