“It’s pretty,” Hyungwon says, just as Gunhee feels the lethargy settle in. He glances over; Hyungwon is looking out of the window, where Hannam Bridge has just come into view. The sky has long since darkened, and the lights have been turned on; they’re visible, along with their reflection on the water, even from a distance. Gunhee only manages to catch a glimpse of it before the city hides it away again, behind skyscrapers and glossy cars. “But only at night.”
A rule broken after three months of silence, long before it becomes an exception.

Hyunjin can hear the smile in Changbin’s voice. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.” Hyunjin nods. “We should try.”
Hyunjin becomes obsessed with getting Changbin pregnant.

“Yeah, you are,” Chan agrees, thumping him on the back. “You’re cute, Seungminnie,” he says, his eyes squinting as he smiles fondly at him. “Like a puppy, right?” he asks, patting Seungmin on the head like a dog.
“I’m not a dog,” he protests, but he fears it comes out garbled.
“Seungmin, paw,” Chan says, and in his haze, he manages to place his hand in Chan’s. “Good boy.”

He swallows to dislodge any lingering silence. “Do you, like… feel people praying?” Down the road’s slit belly, a waxing moon. Chris drums an anxious melody on the steering wheel and keeps his eyes fixed ahead. “At the shrine, I mean.”
Minho turns lazily, skull pressed into the window, eyes like the water at night. Writhing. Empty. “No one’s prayed to me in years,” he says.
Chris summons a dead god in a gas station bathroom. Minho makes the best of it.
