Summary
“Jon, look at me,” Elias says, and Jon does. "You work for me, as my maid. This has always been the case."
He watches Jon’s eyes glaze over as he takes in this order from his master, as his entire world view and memory neatly rearranges itself according to what Elias demands from him in the span of a few seconds. His years as an Archivist, as a Researcher, they all drop away with no noise or fanfare. After a moment, Jon nods his agreement.

Summary
If Elias waits too long, he knows Jon will likely lose his nerve. For now, he is driven by the flare of stubborn rebellion that sent him here early in the first place—wanting to see Elias's face when Jon took such bold action—and the nervous anticipation that fuels it. The hope he does not acknowledge, that Elias will smile and reward his initiative. But it will not last forever.
And so Elias opens the door.

Summary
Elias sides open his closet door and looks inside, a quick look back at Jon as if to appraise him for size again, and then selects something from the very back with a small nod.
“These were a gift from… an old friend,” Elias says, looking down at the pieces he’s selected before holding them out to Jon to examine. There’s a little amused smile on his face, like this is a joke that Jon is not in on, and Jon is grateful to have the pieces of clothing to hold so that he can hide himself behind them and not think about how intensely out of place he feels.

Summary
Jon steels himself, and unbuttons his shirt. The thought of showing this to someone else, of having Elias’ cool, assessing eyes linger on whatever’s happened to him, makes him feel queasy, but he has to know what’s going on. He lets the shirt hang open and peels away the bandage, which is already damp with fluid since this morning. Elias makes a small sound of interest, and Jon loathes him.
“What is it?” he pleads. Elias takes a step closer, a look of fascination on his face, his eyes fixed on what Jon is now thinking of as an orifice.
“That is...rather interesting,” Elias says, his voice intent.

The compulsion is so weak it’s barely there at all, just the instinctive snapping of an animal in pain. It still shudders pleasurably down Elias’ spine, a rush of warmth. Jon is breathing hard. He deserves a little truth, Elias thinks.
“I’m here to take care of you,” he says. “And you’re going to let me. Afterwards you’ll sleep wonderfully, and you’ll feel much better tomorrow.”

There’s something just a tad creepy with the way the kid’s face looks right now; caught somewhere between confusion and euphoria, with his body pumped full of post-op drugs.
