Day 1: Friends to Lovers
“Did you really mean it?”
George tilts his head in utter confusion, his fuzzy brain not quite sure what he’s asking. Sapnap puts his drink down before turning his body to fully face George, embodying the same nervousness that George is feeling right now.
“Earlier, I mean,” Sapnap elaborates, “when you said you were thinking about me.”
If George were sober, the question would’ve rattled him to his core. But he isn’t, and neither is Sapnap, so he hopes he can forgive himself for the way he’s about to make a fool of himself.
George and Sapnap get drunk together while Dream is in LA. George also has a huge crush on Sapnap.

Summary
“Does it ever feel like— like nothing has changed?” He glances up and down.
Dream almost chokes, but swallows as if nothing happened. “What do you mean?”
Dream does not feel like that, if Sapnap is implying that their lives are the objects that haven’t changed.
“Like… I don’t know.” Sapnap exhales, playing with that hem of his sweatshirt sleeve. “It just feels like everything’s the same. Like, we’ve gone to this high school for four years and it’s all just… over. And nothing crazy happened.”
Something crazy did happen.
He doesn’t say that.
With graduation coming up, both Dream and Sapnap dread future change; but maybe it’s the present they should be worrying about.

He wishes that Dream did know better than this, because he sure doesn’t.
Sapnap wonders why he’s not even blocked at this point. Considering how heavy their breakup was on the both of them, Dream probably should have cut the aftermath off before it even started. Now, here was Sapnap, staring with malicious intent at his keys, watching them lay lifelessly on his cold, marble countertop. They’re taunting him, singing to him to do something he shouldn’t do, sirens in a waterless scene.
He’s not strong enough to say no.
Only two months after a messy breakup, Dream lets his new boyfriend move in. However, George, “the new boyfriend,” is flaky and Sapnap can’t keep himself away when he knows Dream is alone all of the time.
He has more to offer, anyway. Cheating isn’t so terrible when it’s deserved.
