Summary
He almost relished knowing Kaveh finally broke, finally decided to leave – as he’d always believed he would. Alhaitham didn’t deserve him. He never had.
As he neared the hallway’s end, he heard Kaveh’s voice again, though he wasn’t sure it was intended.
“I wouldn’t wish returning to you on my worst enemy.”
Or Kaveh grew tired of waiting for Alhaitham a long time ago, and it was about time he noticed.

Summary
When Kaveh turns 12, his father is killed in an accident. After his mother falls deep into grief, she blames him and sells him to the Fatui. Upon joining, he befriends a boy around his age named Ajax. He is placed under Dottore, where he discovers his talent for mechanics, which quickly sparks Dottore's interest in him. When Kaveh turns 18, he is sent to The Akademiya to study and keep an eye on students while Dottore is scheming with the sages. He keeps in contact with Ajax (now the 11th Harbinger) but also hangs out with a fellow student named Alhaitham, whom he believes could be a great asset to the Fatui.
Upon graduation, Kaveh is commissioned by an affiliate of the Fatui, Dori, to build a base of operations. When people start to suspect something amiss, Kaveh is forced to destroy the building and blame it on the withering. After the suspicion is gone, Kaveh still builds the Palace of Alcazarzaray. But as people wonder where the money for the rebuilding came from, Kaveh is ordered to fake being in debt for a while.
He often helps Dottore in building weapons and bases for the Fatui, making him known as Dottore's Protégé

Summary
With the constant clash of emotions versus rationale, it's no surprise that Kaveh is an excellent mirror to Alhaitham. That is until Kaveh finds an ever-present pain in his chest won't cease, and he can only deny his feelings for so long.
