Summary
Dean was intimately familiar with guilt. It came along with hunting, especially when it wasn't a clean cut monster kill and innocents got involved. But this guilt was unlike anything he'd ever dealt with before.
When Cas died in the Bunker's library, an angel blade in his chest and the Mark screaming in Dean's ears, the guilt drove him into hiding. He disappeared and isolated himself like an animal secluding itself for death.
He makes a prison of nature for himself in the woods and expects to never see another soul again.
But fate has other plans, plans that include Castiel.

Summary
Here I was, happily minding my own business, when Supernatural dropped the love confession episode and I instantly was struck with Destiel Derangement Syndrome and fell head over heels back into the Supernatural trashfire. Then the finale happened, and well, the less said about that the better.
So! Here's my series where I fix it. Because YES I'M STILL MAD and also I have many ideas.
1) One does not simply walk into the Empty = My Orpheus & Eurydice take on Dean dragging Castiel out of the Empty
2) Mirror, Mirror = Dean uses a magic mirror to rescue Castiel from the Empty- Words:

Summary

“It frustrates me,” Cas mutters, “how the same sensation can feel sometimes good, and sometimes not.”
Dean’s hand is still rubbing slowly down the length of his spine, like he’s petting the valley between the wings he can’t see. “Well, that’s just par for the course,” Dean rumbles. “Sometimes a body wants touch and sometimes it wants to be left the fuck alone.”
Cas always wants touch. At least from Dean. He doesn’t say so. “It frustrates me how much good and bad I can feel at the same time.”
“Oh, buddy,” Dean says. “Yeah.”
(After the perfect darkness of the Empty, Cas finds the world a little...overwhelming. Dean tries to help.)
