His eyes are half-closed in a distant sort of haze, the dreamworld of escaping to a sweeter memory, but he sounds lucid enough for the moment to be genuine, enough of himself to feel like Steve’s home.
Or maybe Bucky is a little bit delirious after being rescued by the love of his life, and maybe he proposes, too. Maybe it’s 1943 and they’re two boys in love, and though they can’t exchange rings, they have something else.
