It had been three days since he stormed up to Elias’s office, limbs aching, and demanded to know why no one tried to get him back.
It had been three days since he last felt those cold, plastic hands on him, wandering over his body, stiff and unnatural and cruel.
Three days, and he still ached, still burned with rage, still felt those horrible hands on his body.

The reality of his situation truly hits him, and Grian finds himself chuckling. Turning around, he moves to sit with his back against the door.
No one is coming for him.
He’s going to die here.
Such a realization would startle most people; it’d only cause them to worsen their panic, their desperation. Normally there’s some kind of begging, some kind of mantra of “I don’t want to die, please!” Yet Grian sits with this realization and he is calm. He’d even go as far as to say he’s accepted it.

“A hundred prisma. One twenty-five and I throw in the refurbishing kit.”
Grian nearly chokes. “A hundred prisma?? For a dusty old book?” The words come out in a squawk of disbelief.
“Hey, now! That marvelous, fascinating book is worth way more than that! If I charge anything less, I might as well let you walk out without paying a single cent!” To give the man credit, his tone never once falls into a place of offense or anger. Even his enthusiastic insistences are light and playful, making it that much harder to resist.
“...Wouldn’t happen to consider letting me do that, would you?” Okay. Grian has been enjoying the banter a bit, too. In fact, he thinks this is actually the most he’s smiled in a long time.

This world is full of magic. Some harmless, or beautiful, even. Others dangerous and deadly... best kept as a secret.
Grian has always been told to keep his hidden. It's for the best, after all. But when a charming antique shop owner with a silver tongue catches his attention, well... things might have to change.
